## 🤖 Code Generation

`NOTE: this feature is optional and not needed for small applications`

When using JSON-RPC we need our Dart classes to be serialize to JSON.

Also, it will be helpful if our csharp program have the same classes as our Flutter program so we can easily communicate between them.

To solve those problems and to speed up and enhance our development experience, we can use code generation to do the work for us.

Take a look on a [example](https://github.com/YehudaKremer/FlutterCsharpRpc/tree/main/example/csharp_generator) Flutter app that use code generation solution.

# JSON And C# Code Generation

In this example we will use code generation to generate JSON serialization method and C# types for our Dart classes.

To start generating code run the following command:

```console
PS c:\FlutterCsharpRpc\example\code generation\flutter_app> flutter pub run build_runner watch --delete-conflicting-outputs
```

You will see new files added to the project file, an `*.g.dart` files for JSON serialization and an `CsharpModels/Models.cs` for C# types.

This example uses the [json_serializable](https://pub.dev/packages/json_serializable) package for JSON serialization, and [csharp_generator](https://pub.dev/packages/csharp_generator) package for C# types generation.

Note: You can set the output path of the C# file-types by create and edit the [build.yaml](https://github.com/YehudaKremer/FlutterCsharpRpc/tree/main/example/code_generation/flutter_app/build.yaml) file.
