Athletic performances

This repository contains data and R code to reproduce the graphics reported in the July 30, 2016 article "Why Track and Field Stars Don’t Break Records Like They Used To (But Swimmers Do)"

Data

The data comes from the International Association of Athletics Federations and FINA, the international swimming federation.

Code

The code to reproduce the graphics can be found online here, and in the R Markdown document graphics-code.Rmd.
