Zonemaster-LDNS (v2.2.1) uses LDNS 1.7.1 from 2019-07-26. Since then 1.8.0 and 18.1 has been release. Version 1.8.1 was release at 2021-12-03.

It should be considered to update Zonemaster-LDNS to use latest LDNS. On FreeBSD, version 1.8.1 is already used, since LDNS in ports has been updated and standard installation instructions uses that.
