I was inspired by the water tracker on SparkPeople, and I wanted something similar to track both the number of servings of fruits and vegetables per day as well as the color. The recommendation is a minimum of 3 to 5 servings per day of produce; the typical serving size is 1/2 cup (raw or cooked), with the notable exception of 2 cups per serving for raw, leafy greens (think salad). The more varied the produce eaten, the healthier. Since the different color families have different phytochemicals, the recommendation is to Eat the Rainbow!
